"A moment": because it passes so quickly, it is turned over again and again in memory, becoming all the clearer and more precious. So much in art cannot be put into words—not because we are unwilling to speak, but because language often struggles to reach the moments that matter most: an emotion, fragments of memory, a fleeting sensation, those decisive moments. As a conception of time, the "moment" refuses a linear understanding of time. It is both a pause and a duration in consciousness, a passage that determines what will be remembered and what will be forgotten. It resides in every choice we make and every action we take.
Precisely because a moment is so precious, it is all the more easily lost amid the acceleration and disorder of the present. Time disperses as it accelerates. Without pause, everything seems to vanish almost as it appears, and can gather neither weight nor meaning. Why do we remember certain moments while unwittingly forgetting others? Experience can settle into memory or crystallise in the making of art. Whether time is consciously represented or unconsciously expressed, it is always present. When being becomes a moment, this transformation is itself an act of resistance. And so we ask: What shapes an artist’s practice? How can moments worth remembering become art that resists forgetting?
As the moment in which artistic creation is presented, the exhibition shifts attention from the work to the artist as subject—to emotions, stories, situatedness, everyday life and conditions of existence. We hope to set the viewer’s imagination in motion, reaching through artworks, surfaces, images and words to touch, through intuition, those presences that can be felt, so that being itself may be illuminated and remembered.
